What is sublimation?

Sublimation, also referred to as dye-sub or dye sublimation printing, is a versatile production method that opens up a vast array of design opportunities with respect to basketball uniforms.

So, what is sublimation?
Sublimation incorporates the process of dying all colours, designs, decoration and graphics directly into the fibre of the fabric. This essentially means that everything is made without the use of layered fabrics and trims. You can run your finger across the surface of a sublimated garment and you will feel nothing.

The process of sublimation applies only to garments made of polyester. At DUNK, our sublimated basketball uniforms are made using sublimate polyester – an exceptional material that maintains its colour and appearance over time and extended use. Our attention to workmanship means that this product can be easily relied upon for an extended number of years if so desired.

Benefits of DUNK sublimated uniforms

  • Material is lightweight, durable and comfortable – its moisture-wicking characteristic keeps players as cool and dry as possible
  • Colours remain vibrant and do not fade, they last as long as the garment
  • Any design and colour combination possible
  • Logos and other custom artwork able to be incorporated in to designs at no extra cost

Sublimation allows us to specialise in complex designs, copy new or retro styles, feature custom/sponsor logos and include design effects such as pinstriping. A perfect example of what we can accomplish using sublimation are our custom camouflage print designs – they’re easy to create, the colours are customisable and they look great!

All of our sublimated garments are made locally in Brisbane, facilitating the highest quality and quickest turnaround times in Australia.
