Our DUNKified Ringwood Hawks continue to set the pace in Victoria's Big V, sitting alone on top with a 9-1 record at the halfway mark of the men's competition.
Led by the league's top two scorers in US import Sam Belt and former NBL player Luke McMillan, the Hawks have moved from rank outsiders to championship favourites after putting away a number of formidable opponents with a now-trademark barrage of three point shooting.
The Hawks' standout duo have been ably assisted by the trio of Luke O'Hea, Matt Snowball and Willie Weimer. All five players were recently selected to the South East team in the 2009 Big V All-Star Game.
Meanwhile, the Ringwood ladies are working hard to break into the top four of the Big V D2 league. With Lizzie Brenner heading the team, the ladies are a solitary win outside of a playoff berth with half a season left to play.
