New NBA uniforms

Two NBA franchises to date have released remixed uniform designs in readiness for the 08/09 season. Let's take a look.

The Minnesota Timberwolves were first on the plate, offering a slightly modifed touch on what has arguably been the most dreadful design for many years in the L.

The font for the lettering and numbering (goodbye Walshes!) has been replaced by a strikingly similar yet more aesthetically pleasing style, whilst green becomes a more prominent colour on the side panels. FYI, the side panel design is meant to reflect Minnesota's traditional trees and night sky. Fairly lame in our opinion (trees on a sporting uniform???) but whatever, it's an improvement nonetheless.

Following the T-Wolves came the New Orleans Hornets, and frankly we couldn't help but lend a though to the glory days of Alonzo Mourning, Larry Johnson and co.

The pinstripes made famous in Charlotte have returned, and the primary gold uniform has been replaced by the more familiar white colourway plenty of NBA fans will fondly remember. We're not a fan of pinstripes ourselves, but there is no doubting these threads will be nothing short of a smash hit with fans this season.

Still to come are the rebadged Oklahoma City Thunder (formerly of Seattle, RIP Sonics). No word yet on what threads they'll be rockin', but judging by the shades of blue, yellow and orange on their team website, we're not holding our breath for any masterpieces.
